How to fundraise for your charity place
This page is for participants fundraising for a charity place. It covers where to book, how to set up fundraising, and where to find training guidance.
Representing a charity team? See events for charities instead - that is for organisers planning events, not participants.
Start here
Two things to do first:
- Find your place: browse Charity Challenges for upcoming charity dates. If your charity has already told you which event to book, use the booking link they provided.
- Set up your fundraising page: create a page on JustGiving, GoFundMe Charity, or your charity's preferred platform before you start outreach.
Find charity places and dates
- Charity Challenges: upcoming charity events with dates and pricing.
- Charity places explained: if you are not sure what a charity place is or how it differs from a standard booking.
Fundraising guidance
The fundraising hub has everything you need: how to set a target, Gift Aid guidance, team ideas, and workplace giving. Start with the target, then use the templates.
Training
A Three Peaks Challenge is a long day. Yorkshire is 24 miles on foot, and the National combines three mountains with long transfers between peaks. Start with regular walking, then build to longer hill days. The training guide has specific advice for each challenge.
Common questions
- Where do I book? Start at Charity Challenges.
- My charity sent me a link but it looks like an organiser page. That page is for charity organisers. Use this page or Charity Challenges instead.
- How do I choose between challenges? See how to choose a charity event.
- I want to do this for a charity but do not have one in mind. Browse Charity Challenges to see which charities have events running.
