If you'd like to take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge as an independent group, or you can't make one of our Guided dates, we can very happily arrange a private Yorkshire Three Peaks for your group.

This is ideal for charity fundraising and company team building events.

Our big event package (for groups of 50 to 200 people, 35+ people on select Fridays) includes mountain leaders to guide you safely around the route, our support vehicle to meet you in between the mountains, refreshments and certificates of completion.

Our typical itinerary begins the Challenge at 5.30am in Chapel le Dale, and walking anti-clockwise, Ingleborough first, followed by Pen-y-Ghent and then Whernside.

Before we start

Please arrive at 5.30am so you have time to park, put your boots and kit on, find your group and check in. If you are walking with friends, please check in together no later than 6.00am.

After check-in there is a short safety briefing and kit check. We normally start the challenge between 6.00am and 6.15am.

Late arrivals can delay the whole group and reduce the time available for the challenge, so please allow extra time for traffic, parking and getting ready.

Pace, checkpoints and route decisions

Our guides monitor progress at points throughout the day and will advise if your pace is becoming a concern. Most people find the pace achievable, but the Yorkshire Three Peaks is still a long mountain day and the route needs to be managed safely.

If you are heading towards a 13-hour-plus day, it may not be suitable to continue to the final summit. If you have not reached the final checkpoint before 3.00pm, our guides may direct you onto a lower route for the last section.

This keeps the group within reach of the safety vehicle and avoids placing tired participants onto a remote summit late in the day. Lower routes may also be used in poor weather, including high winds and heavy rain.
